Welcome to your new second home!

Since 1982 Threshold has been a kinky family dedicated to exploring BDSM and other forms of kinky play in a safe, sane, and consensual atmosphere. We are a non-profit, education based volunteer organization that has empowered people of all sexual identities and affiliations to be who they truly are.

We were ALL new at one point and many of us were nervous about what to expect. Many of us drove around the parking lot numerous times to build up the courage to come in, so our goal is to empower you with an understanding of Threshold, Kink and BDSM.

Our Orientations are open to the public and anyone who is 18 or older may attend, free of charge. Orientation is where you will learn in more detail what type of club we are, and what we are not. The basics of BDSM, it’s culture, dungeon etiquette, safety, self empowerment, respect, and the tolerance and care we share with each other at Threshold are covered in a little over an hour. Then, you are free to look around the club and see for yourself the erotic playground of creativity and freedom we have built over many years of dedication, passion and hard work.

This is not a play party or demonstration of kinky play.

This is not an opportunity to come and “pick up” on new people.

This is not a place to promote your personal business or outside events.

This IS a place for information, education, and to help people feel welcome to our amazing lifestyle. Please feel free to dress casual.

At the end of each Orientation, you will have the opportunity to become a member of Threshold, which costs a mere $25 for the year and offers many benefits. (For more information on membership, follow this link.)

We look forward to meeting you and helping you become part of our Threshold family.

If you have any questions about Orientation, please feel free to email us at Orientation@threshold.org. Questions regarding membership should be emailed to Membership@Threshold.org.

FAQ about Orientation

If I attend one of your Orientations, am I obligated to join?

Absolutely not. While attending Orientation is a mandatory requirement for membership with our club, it is up to you whether or not you wish to join.

If I’m not going to join Threshold, what’s the purpose of attending Orientation?

While many people attend our Orientations as one of the prerequisites of becoming a member of Threshold, it also serves as a great way to get to know us and learn a little more about our community. If you’re nervous about attending a Threshold party or class and want to know ahead of time what we’re like and what you can expect, please join us at an Orientation and learn about us. It’s free!
